CALLING ALL ARTISTS – APPLY FOR THE 43RD ANNUAL PEOPLE’S FAIR!

Applications Available for Annual Community Celebration; Kick-off to Summer Festival Season

Denver, Colo. – January 8, 2014 – Capitol Hill United Neighborhoods, Inc. (CHUN) is currently accepting applications for artists and vendors for the two-day CHUN Capitol Hill People’s Fair, to be held June 7 and 8, 2014.  Applications are available at www.peoplesfair.com.  Fine art and Handcrafted applications are due on March 31, 2014, and applications for other vendors (Personal Service, Gourmet Pre-packaged Food, Greening-Repurpose, Medical Marketplace, and Marketplace) are due onApril 4, 2014.  Please see information below on the artist and vendor categories.  For all other questions, please contact Nicole Anderson at 303-830-1651.

Last year’s changes in the People’s Fair application and selection process were in direct response to overwhelming feedback that there needed to be more defined categories for the different levels of handmade art accepted into our fair.  The grey area between true handmade fine artists and hand crafters is becoming increasingly undefined due to artists utilizing cost-effective mass-produced or imported materials while creating their items.  Our categorization process addresses this reality.  We want our application and selection process to be as transparent as possible and have and will continue to encourage feedback regarding the changes.  It is our hope that this process will help even the playing field for all artists and that the unique character and charm of the People’s Fair will be unchanged.

Based on feedback we received from our 2013 artists, Fine Art applicants will be in their own area and not placed around the Fair as in the past (area location at Fair TBD). If you are a Fine Art artist who does not want to be in the Fine Art area, please apply under the Hand Crafted application.
