Rastasaurus’ new album Bad For Business is great local reggae. The five track album was mastered by Jim Wilson of Jim Wilson Mastering, recorded at Crucible Studios in El Dorado Springs and tracked at Violet Recording in Boulder. Bad For Business is a small sample from a band who has gained attention from their live shows. The band has recently played shows opening for Indubious, Midnite and John Brown’s Body, plus they have toured the front range and the western slope extensively.

The band entered the studio with the intent to record songs that have already become staples at Rastasaurus’ live shows. The fan favorites “Yesterday’s Criminal” and “Daily Bread” will be familiar to casual Rastasaurus fans as well as the other three tracks: “Hunker Down”, “Wake Up Dead” and “Sometimes It’s No Good” are also potential fan favorites.

When you listen to Bad for Business, you know these guys grew up listening to the Grateful Dead and a lot of reggae. Twins Eric and Mark Ciccone are a lead guitar and bass combo reminiscent of Jerry Garcia and Phil Lesh. Lead singer and rhythm guitarist Justus Lacewell has a unique voice that blends with the music while keyboardist Ryan Kerr and drummer Nick Sounder bring everything together with steady reggae rhythms.
