MTHDS continues its hip-hop rock-funk/dance tradition with their compelling and stellar new release Pretty Deep. Hitting the subs and tweeters effectively, the full-length album launches with an awesome and contagious song titled “Influences” featuring Chali 2na from Jurassic 5. (Check out the superb video for “Influences” as well on their website).
I found myself waking up wanting to hear songs like “Drive,” with its very proficient guitar work and memorable chorus, or “Time to Ride” that straight up wants to make you fire up your morning the right way. The album really shows diversity that MTHDS has yet to show on recordings, and is a quality representation of what type of incredible, unique, and marketable talent MTHDS has to offer to an ever-growing style of fickle music fans.
With a huge fan base, a national-level record, and the talent to back it up, MTHDS proves that you can share your unique soul as a team of musicians your way, and still reach the masses in an undeniable and exceptional fashion.
