Matt Morris Hits Swallow Hill March 30

| March 20, 2013 | 0 Comments

Many people in Denver know Matt Morris from his 2010 release, When Everything Breaks Open, which received national attention and catapulted the Colorado native into the mainstream spotlight on shows like Letterman and Ellen. Morris sold out theaters and toured nationally, opening for artists such as The Indigo Girls, Joan Osborne and Ingrid Michaelson.

Other’s know Morris from his songwriting career. He has penned hits for Kelly Clarkson (Miss Independent), Justin Timberlake (Another Song), Christina Aguilera (Can’t Hold Us Down), Cher (Woman’s World), and most recently the local breakout artist, KING (Need A Woman By Friday). In his 15 year career as a professional songwriter he has established himself as a “go to” collaborator for a wide range of artists.

But Morris got his start as a songwriter playing small, intimate venues with little more than an acoustic guitar and a microphone. This is what fans can look forward to on Saturday, March 30th at 8pm at Swallow Hill’s Daniels Hall.

“I’ve taken a minute and stepped away from performing,” Morris says. “The road is fun, but I needed to take some time and get back to the basics. I’ve been writing a lot, and before I get into the recording head-space for another album I decided to try out some songs on a local audience.”

Join Morris and special guest, Aiden James, for this intimate night of acoustic music.
