Jordan Igoe is coming all the way from Charleston, South Carolina for the SpokesBUZZ Homecoming Week October 1-5, where she will be performing alongside The Yawpers, k i d s, and Eldren at the Hi-Dive on Wednesday, July 1. CMB caught up with her to get some details on her, her involvement in BandSwap, and the time to poke fun at U2. More info on the Bandswap event can be found here.

CMB: Give us a little background on yourself and your music.

JI: Jordan Igoe is a magnetic, multi-talented and genuine alt-country singer-songwriter based in Charleston, South Carolina. She has been playing music professionally for over ten years as a solo performer and with a rotating lineup of stellar backup musicians. Jordan has shared the stage with ‘The Lone Bellow’, Cary Ann Hearst and Michael Trent of ‘Shovels & Rope, in addition to touring regionally all over the Southeast. In other words, she has paid her dues and put in the 10,000 hours that according to Malcolm Gladwell is a requirement for being a true professional in your chosen profession.

CMB: How did you become involved with BandSwap?

JI: I was encouraged to enter Bandswap in Charleston by friends and venue owners and I’ve always wanted to go out west so I wanted to take advantage of the opportunity.

CMB: Will you be working with any of these groups in the future?

JI: I hope so!

CMB: Is this your first time in CO? What are you most looking forward to?

JI: First time. Very excited about open minded people and beautiful spaces.

CMB: What’s a typical day on the road for you? What keeps you busy and entertained?

JI: George Jones, Roger Miller, Cowboy Shots, and lots of laughs. Making fun of U2.

CMB: Anything special in store for the Hi-Dive gig?

JI: We have some new songs and our pedal steel player will be joining us.

CMB: Where can we check out your music and learn more about you?

JI: jordanigoemusic.com. You can purchase my album on iTunes and it is on Spotify.
