Incandescence, by Denver band Fluorescent Phobia is a five-track soundscape that takes listeners on a sonic journey from beautiful, soothing lows to driving, powerful highs – all within the span of 17 minutes. Written, recorded, and produced independently by this incredibly talented quintet at their own Substructure Studios, Incandescence is a testament to the dedication this group has to their unique sound. The haunting vocal melodies (a chilling example can be found on track 3, entitled “Flowers of Your Garden”) provided by Matthew Paradis and Brittany Mahoney perfectly compliment the vintage sounds laid down by the rest of the band using conventional rock instruments alongside symphonic ones played soulfully by Damon DuPont. Fluorescent Phobia is currently getting ready to launch an all-out attack on Denver venues beginning in January, 2014. Mile High residents would be wise not to miss out on this musical kaleidoscope of a band!
