Andy Skellenger’s 30th Birthday Party and World Music Celebration

In a world music collaboration of epic proportions, tabla player and muli-instrumentalist Andy Skellenger will celebrate his 30th birthday by bringing together a selection of Colorado’s premier musicians for an unprecedented night of live instrumental music. In this concert will be featured a wide variety of genres, from Flamenco and Salsa to West African, Indian Classical and Fusion.

On stage will be seen Greg Harris and members of his Vibe Quintet (winner’s of 2012 Westword Music Showcase Best Jazz Ensemble), the Matt Skellenger group (finalists in the Westword Music Showcase in 2011), acclaimed Flamenco Guitarist Miguel Espinosa, Violinist Anthony Salvo, Bassists Charles Parker Mertens and Eric Thorin, Chuck and Theano Lamb on piano and vocals, B

rother Mike the Ehiopian Monk on Mandolin, and more to be announced.

With this stellar line up of musicians, the conventions of style and genre will not serve to limit the creative and improvisational spirit of collaboration, instead opening new avenues of musical exploration.

He has garnered global acclaim including accolades for his creativity and expertise from a variety of publications including Billboard and Keyboard magazine, The New York Times, and The Los Angeles Times, with his musical partner, vocalist /composer Theano Lamb.
